Launched in 2012, The Veranda respite program continues to serve as primary outreach of Veranda Ministries. As requests for different forms of assistance increased since its start in 2012, the organization expanded into Veranda Ministries.
Today, services include The Veranda social-based, day respite program, “Hidden Heroes” grief support meetings and a dementia/end-of-life doula program. The non-profit organization provides an annual care partner conference and also offers dementia care training for families of those living with dementia. Veranda Ministries also hosts the “Aging, Angst & Alleluias” podcast.
A 501c3 organization advised by a Board of Directors, Veranda Ministries relies on its fees as well financial support from individuals for its operations.

“Our nation is on the verge of a crisis in addressing the various needs of our senior adult population. Seniors and their families are having a hard time knowing where to turn for guidance, help and understanding their purpose, and I believe the churches should be on the forefront helping in this task. I strongly believe it’s our Christian duty to treat our senior adults with respect and dignity. It’s an honor for me to help churches and families learn how to celebrate the blessings that our seniors bring to our lives.” — Mary Anne
